Drainage & SUDS Design

Sleater & Watson provide below ground foul water and surface water drainage strategies for both new build schemes and modifications to existing systems. With an increasing focus on climate change and flooding to urban areas becoming more frequent, the need to develop robust and Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) is becoming more important than ever before. The risk of flooding due to urban creep and the lack of spare capacity in the existing public sewer networks means new or redeveloped sites will often require means to deal with surface water run-off through SuDS. This can be via infiltration to ground through soakaways, swales and wetlands, discharge to nearby watercourses or inclusion of storage to attenuate the surface water run-off by utilising below ground tanks or ponds. The requirement for the introduction of SuDS is now a pre-requisite for any planning permission. Sleater & Watson can manage the process of delivering a drainage strategy for your site which is attentive the site-specific conditions and requirements of the Local Planning Authority and Lead Local Flood Authority. By providing a SuDS strategy which is supported by hydraulic modelling software and calculations along with a robust maintenance regime for the end users, we can provide a service which meets the requirements of Planners, the LLFA and the statutory service providers such as United Utilities. We can also provide specifications which are suitable for adoption by the Statutory Undertaker through Section 102 and 104 Agreements.
